Juicing Detox Day 6: Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Rummaging in the kitchen cupboards yielded a book on juicing that I’ve had buried for several years.  It’s not the best book in the world for healthy juices but I found a couple of juicing recipes I wanted to try including the Red Hot Chilli Pepper juice.

I don’t have a photo to show you of the juice because it turned out looking more like a mudslide than a vibrant, red juice but that’s because I used all the courgettes I had in the fridge.  The juice includes red peppers (capsicum), radishes, courgettes (zucchini), tomatoes, oranges and a red chilli pepper.

When it was all juiced up, the chilli didn’t have much of a kick to it. The juice tasted a bit like a Mexican sauce but without the fire so I added some chilli powder. I stirred well, or so I thought.  Halfway through the juice, I swallowed a pellet of chilli powder that didn’t get stirred in.  Needless to say, my mouth was stinging for ages.  Note to self: stir, stir real good.

That was my adventure in juicing today: chilli pepper. I like it -they’ll be more tomorrow (not the powder though!).

End Of Juicing Detox Day 6

It’s 8.30pm and I’m in my PJs ready for bed.  I’m tired, really tired.  The promise of more energy still hasn’t happened and I could have easily taken a nap this afternoon or gone to bed about 6pm.

I haven’t been hungry as long as I juice every 3-4 hours and when I’m not tired, I do feel more awake than I normally would.

I know I’m doing good things for my body but I’d just like a little more energy.
